Margaret Preedy Dance Studios

Margaret Preedy Dance Studios are located on the same site as the party venue Rianos, on Tonbridge Road in Maidstone, Kent. Offering a wide range of dance lessons, including adult & children's dance classes alike. Margaret Preedy is a triple Fellow with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Licentiate with (IDTA) and has been teaching in Maidstone for many years. The Margaret Preedy Dance Studios is one of the largest Schools in the South East, teaching Modern Ballroom, Latin American, Disco Freestyle and much more.Both of her parents, Peter Preedy and Anne Lingard, have been teaching ballroom dancing in Maidstone since 1943, and now in her own school she runs classes 6 days a week for children and adults alike with the emphasis always being on FUN! There are many opportunities for all the dancers to take ISTD & IDTA examinations, perform in shows, dance in displays and enter dance competitions and talent contests. has many many candidates who take examinations with the ISTD each year.

There is a great social atmosphere in the school and over the years the popularity of dance has grown, both within the adult and children’s classes. Margaret has trained many of the professional dancers that you see on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, and some of them, like James Jordan, have been learning to dance with Margaret since they were children!She also runs many large events, competitions, choreograph and produce shows and work with the BBC on “Strictly Come Dancing” and also with Sky TV’s Got to Dance, series plus other independent shows like Australian Princess, Don’t Get Done Get Don, The Mint, This Morning, to name a few along with many interviews on local and national radio stations.

Hayley Pooke who is an associate member of the ISTD has been working at the dance studios for many years and not only teaches dancing but assists Margaret in the running of the dance studios and the busy Rianos Party Venue.
